This is something that happened this year. I won't go into much detail since most of this went through known territory, but basically, over the course of six day tripy, I cycled a circle around all the S-Bahn final stops of Munich. And since you can take along your bike in the S-Bahn for a reasonable price, I did so by taking the S-Bahn out to one final stop, then cycling one, two or three branches down in a clockwise direction (depending on how far apart they lay), and then took the S-Bahn back home again.
